The Past

How Focus Machinery came about…

“Tonka toys to big boys toys”

As kids we grew up with our dad & uncles’ landscaping business on the vacant block next door. When they pulled out each morning it was a real case of “while the cat’s away the mice play” Charles and I would be out there sitting in the bobcat, pretending to drive the backhoe or re-developing Mum’s garden with our Tonka trucks!

As a kid the delight when a new machine was purchased and we would get to fight over the model or when the quarterly Bobcat magazine come in the post . While we were still in school the landscape business grew and eventually the business was sold. Fast forward 16 years to 2009, in the height of the GFC, the thirst for “Big boys toys” was still there ……
